I have officially completed 37 weeks of pregnancy which means I have technically made it to full term and it is now safe to have the baby at any point in time. As of last thursday's appointment I had not begun to dialate but the doc said my cervix looked really good. He will check again next Tuesday and we will hope for the best! I haven't had much Braxton hicks contractions (maybe 3?) and still feel pretty good, just huge! My nesting has gone into fill throttle the past couple weeks while john has been on predeployment leave and for the most part, every room in the finegan household has been fully cleaned and organized and made fully functional for a baby to live in (even under the washer and dryer has been cleaned!) The car seat has been installed, hospital bags are packed, all that is left is to pack for 7 months of postpartum in md (yea, easier said than done). So I think I can say with more confidence now that we are ready for baby Elizabeth to come. Whether or not we are mentally...well that's to be determined.
Life is just a collection of new beginnings right? This blog chronicles the ones in the Finegan's lives.

NC Nursery!
Thanks to one of my best friends Josh, a jack of literally all trades design related, this architect quickly sketched out a drawing of his idea for Elizabeth's nursery many many months ago that finally came to life this past week! And the drawing is pretty accurate other than we moved the position of the rug and the chair+ottoman took up more space than we thought! All in all, it came together beautifully and I couldn't think of anything more special for our lovely little girl.

Like many moments in my life, I really don't know what I would've done without Josh's help! With the husband training in CA and me being at the end of my 8th month, I very well knew I could not do this alone and realize how lucky I am to just be able to call on a friend (and a very talented one indeed) and know that he will be there. Josh, thank you thank you thank you!
So on to explaining the room. The bed and dressers were already in the room (and the dressers are only for this house--we will be getting the ones that match the crib when we move to our permanent house). Other items in the room such as the lamp and bench were on our registry. And then thanks to family, we were given the curtains, the crib and all accessories, the chair + ottoman and the rug. This allowed us to have some fun with fabric and frames and next thing you know, some DIY projects happened that really gave Elizabeth's room that extra personalization! Love, love, love how it turned out!
